Module 5 - Training Audio Files

Welcome to Medical Transcription (MT) Audio Section! Posted here are the training voice files section wise in order of difficulty and types. We would be posting around 1000 minutes of dictation for your practice. Each audio file has its own transcript in the Transcribed Documents section. These audio files are in the WAV format and can be played in most of the audio players like Windows Media Player, Real Player, QuickTime, WinAmp etc. As a Trainee MT, you are supposed to listen to these audio files and transcribe them in your Word Editor. After transcribing, you can then compare the transcribed file with the final transcribed document and take note of all the errors. When you start practicing these audio files religiously, very soon you will find yourself transcribing most of the dictations with great accuracy and speed. Start right now!

Section - I - The audio dictations in this section cover many of the specialities. Go through each audio file, transcribe them in your word editor and then compare them with the final transcribed version. These dictations would expose you to the real world of medical transcription. After listenening to these audio dictations and going through the transcripts, you will understand the process of medical dictation transcription. Hear through each audio carefully!

Section - II - This section consists of audio files narrating some commonly used abbreviations in transcription. Abbreviations are used very frequently by physicians in their dictations. Knowledge of some of the most frequently used abbreviations therefore becomes essential. Often the same abbreviation has two or more different meanings. However, with practice and depending on the content one can easily identify to which definition the abbreviation is relating to. Transcribe these abbreviations and then compare them with the final transcript in the Transcribed Documents section.

Section - III - The physical examination is one of the most important aspects of a medical dictation. As a medical transcriptionist, you will come across this part virtually in almost every medical recording. Therefore, we prepared some audios having several types of such dictations. These dictations will give you ample amount of practice for quality transcription. So start transcribing these dictations and then compare your transcripts with those from Transcribed Documents Section III.
